YVES SAINT LAURENT
It was the alpha-female on the catwalk when tangerine took a sophisticated turn, with chiffon blouses tucked into navy knee-length skirts. The result was empowering, contemporary and ultra-glam.

Catwalk colour
“Tangerine is scorching hot on the runways and this will naturally convert into hair colour tones,” says Sue Pemberton, JOICO’s global colour director. It’s a trend that looks stunning against pale alabaster skins, according to John Clark, head of the colour department, at Brooks+Brooks. “Embracing this spicy glow is lots of fun, but remember it is not a darker hue but bright and juicy that we’re craving.” Goldwell’s latest Play Strong from its Color Zoom collection is a great example of strong contrasts, with a knockout red that’s strong yet natural looking. “Red is still a huge story and will continue,” admits Charles Worthington’s Carolyn Newman. “From pop art tones as sported by Rihanna to jaffa copper shades, wild flame hair and raspberry dipped ends.” Over at Eleven Hair, Jason Welch colours the re-growth area with one shade and then uses three or even four additional shades in the same level but of varying tones to create the perfect redhead.
“Feminine and seductive, yet strong and powerful, turn heads this season with the dominance of the super reds! From golden coppers and pale amber through to fiery, vibrant shades, vamp it up in light-reflective, iridescent reds for a look that screams of unadulterated glamour.”
