Famed for her pillowy lips and Victoria’s Secret work, the English model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley made her film debut as the female lead in Transformers: Dark of the Moon and is now the face of Burberry’s newest fragrance, Burberry Body. Rosie’s lengthy locks of silk are effortlessly sexy and never go unnoticed, so we asked Neil Smith, artistic director for Barrie Stephen Hair, to explore her hair colour and how it frames that flawless face.
The look:
Rosie’s look is classic Hollywood – very red carpet gorgeous and elegant. Her subtle blonde, sunkissed highlights are well placed around her face and look natural, really brightening her complexion and frame her striking features.
The palette:
Rosie’s natural light brown hair has been gently enhanced by a touch of gold, rose, honey and butterscotch shades which work well against her English rose skin. Less is definitely more and she nails the effortless glamour with minimal colour.
The technique:
A fantastic way to achieve subtle highlights is to opt for microlights. The thinnest individual strands are coloured and folded into foil and when all washed out and finished it gives an all over lovely, shimmery sun-touched look. It’s understated and gives a softened colour hue throughout long hair – great for a natural feel.
Alternative:
I think Rosie’s hair looks great just as it is, and with such natural-looking colour, any style, whether casual or glam, would show it off well.
