Alison Mosshart

Leonardo RizzoAs a dichotomy of cute American girl and tough-as-nails English rocker, Alison Mosshart has inspired legions of ladies to get raven, rock ‘n’ roll bangs.  Her role as lead vocalist in punk-rock band The Kills, with Jamie Hince (who has recently become Mr Kate Moss); and in The Dead Weather, with Jack White of White Stripes fame; has put her in directly in the spotlight. Leonardo Rizzo, Indola global ambassador at Sanrizz, sheds some light on that achingly hip hair.

The look:
Alison is definitely staying true to her music vibe with this grunge, rock-chick feel, with the intensely dark hair shade, minimal make-up, and a very slept-in, casual look. The unusual peak fringe also adds to the edginess of her style.

The palette:
The extreme dark brown, almost black colour makes her skin complexion pale, but it’s a fantastic tone for achieving a high gloss effect. The beauty of darker shades means that even effortless or tousled styles can look really healthy and sleek.

Technique:
Alison’s hair is one colour and a great way to achieve such vibrant colour is to opt for a semi-permanent shade – best for giving maximum shine and gloss.

Alternative:
At Sanrizz, we are working with block colours to complement haircuts, so for this style I would inject a subtle undertone of grey, green or even a deep violet shade from the Indola Professional colour range, to make the hair look less wiggy and give it more of a fashion vibe.
