A nice start to being back, I went to the British Fashion Awards – a very glamorous occasion!  It’s always interesting to see the people attending, you can’t help but look, from the weird to the wonderful. I also styled Yasmin Le Bon’s hair for it. She is so beautiful and it was a real pleasure to meet her. It’s the countdown to Christmas now and I am due to spend some more time in the salon, so I’m looking forward to that.

I just got back from the most amazing trip to Tokyo! One of the massive perks of being a member of the International Artistic Team is travelling around the world. It is so interesting to learn about different cultures and it was dream trip. It was in aid of a celebration for 25 years of Toni&Guy education, with an original member of the Art Team and the longstanding owner of Toni&Guy Japan, Kenji Saiga. Everything was amazing, from the people, the food and the hairdressing, especially walking down Harajuku Street. The team hosted a show for 4,000 hairdressers in a stadium, so it was pretty surreal. And of course, not forgetting the karaoke, which is a must when you’re in Japan!

It was a busy day in the salon yesterday and I was ultimately looking forward to tonight. I went to The Gaff on Holloway Road in London and saw one of my favourite psycho-billy bands Guana Batz, it is such a great venue, really small and personal.

The Kenzo show was fantastic! It was a 40-year retrospective and was truly inspirational. It was so interesting to see how head designer Antonio Marras creates looks, and seeing the living dolls onstage was beautiful.

The hair was all about preparation as we were working with headdresses made out of luxurious fabrics and textures. We needed to create a foundation and padding for these elaborate headdresses to sit on and work with scalp plaits and chignons. There were four shows throughout the day and 30 models, so a lot of work!

The weekend went by fast, but was really relaxing, I had some friends over and chilled-out after a very full-on week at the Academy. This week I am especially looking forward to a big catwalk show at the V&A for Kenzo – a label that I have followed for a long time.

Today we held a huge seminar at the Academy for 85 Japanese hairdressers. We presented the new collection Project 10, as well as editorial work from London Fashion Week and it was a huge success. It is great having so many people in the Academy, it sets a really buzzing and energetic mood, which is always the best when trying to be creative.

Last night was the Art Team meeting, which happens every other Tuesday of the month. The Art Team invites Toni&Guy staff to come for creative training. Yesterday we did a huge presentation on the new Toni&Guy collection, Project 10. We did an intricate breakdown of the techniques and products used for cut and colour, to make sure everyone is on the same page. It was a lot of fun.

What a weekend, a full column in the salon on Saturday making clients happy, I love it! Then it was off to a Halloween psycho-billy gig at the GAF on Holloway Road, one of my favourite bands was playing: Demented Are Go. Live gigs are such a passion and it is definitely one thing I won’t compromise and will find the time to do – so many inspiring sights as you can see!

It was a hectic day back at the Academy, we held a seminar for 50 Japanese students in our studio. There was a lot to do, presenting cuts and colours onstage, but they loved it!

I need to do some prep for another show we are doing later in the week, with a 6am call time on Thursday – what a way to get back into it!

The shoot I’ve just finished for You Magazine was amazing – I’m not allowed to give much away, but it was one of the grandest location I have ever shot in. It will be for the Christmas edition and I can’t wait to see it in print!

After that I had some time to relax, after working solidly for three weeks I finally spent time with my husband and my friends.
