Stylish salon interiors from around the world

Kevin Kahan, Bangor, Northern Ireland

The Kevin Kahan salon is 4,500 sq ft of beautiful architectural intervention, remodelled across three floors. The aquarmarine and glass mosaic reception opens out onto an extensive retail space, while a hospitality area, akin to a barista bar, is a place of relaxation away from the activity of the reception.

The main body of the salon is long, narrow and with extraordinarily high volume. Each styling station features a Welonda styling chair and tabletop lamps, reminiscent of an Ivy League college library. “My inspiration comes from my interest in architecture, literature and buildings that I have experienced,” says artistic director and proprietor, Kevin Kahan.

It’s a sophisticated affair with an intimate VIP salon space and mezzanine gallery, seven shiatsu backwash units and custom-made retail units form Italy. Throughout, the materials used, are oak, bamboo and steel, are raw and unpolished.
