Dylan Bradshaw, owner of award-winning Dylan Bradshaw Hair Salon, Academy and Blowdry Bar, Dublin

My lightbulb moment…
I suppose my biggest lightbulb moment was when I decided to open my own salon and put my money where my mouth was – I just decided, I can do that!

My scariest decision…
I’ve never been scared of anything in business really, my mentality is to just get stuck in and work hard, so I always knew it would pay off in the end.

I knew I made it when…
That’s a bit of a weird one. I suppose a big milestone was when I saw one of my first collections in Creative HEAD all those years ago.

If I could go back 10 years…
I never look back but I’m looking forward to the next 10 years!

I’ll never take for granted…
Top of the list of people I’ll never take for granted is our clients. It’s the db philosophy to give them the best experience they can get anywhere so they keep coming back for more! Secondly the db team who work bloody hard to keep that level of service every day!

The most important lesson I’ve learnt…
Don’t listen to the negative just the positive and never be afraid to fail, we win eventually!

My favourite piece of advice…
My mum always told me, ‘be a leader, not a follower’ and I’ve lived by that.

I owe it all to…
My wife Charlotte who’s my business partner (she’d like to think she’s my boss), she’s the smartest woman I know and a great mother.
