Christian Dior
I’ve always admired John Galliano’s work, but this collection with Bill Gaytten at the helm really embodies everything I feel Christian Dior should be.

Versace
After a hiatus from couture since 2004, Versace Atelier returned with a most beautiful collection. After seeing Angelina Jolie in Versace at the Golden Globes last week I could not wait to see this – and I was totally blown away.

Givenchy
The most beautiful clothes in the world! Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci is always an eye-opener and this was no exception – detailed and exquisite!

Left: 3.1 Phillip Lim
The prints, graphic shapes and shoes of this collection are great! I also really like the bags this season.
Right: Lanvin
Beautiful. I am a sucker for Lanvin and was not disappointed by this collection. I love the muted palette and the ruffled hair – if I had an unlimited budget I would buy it all.
A great range made up of defined casual pieces – one of my favourite everyday brands.
Right: Maison Martin Margiela
I adore the structure, fluidity and biscuity tones.

Dries Van Noten
One of my all-time favourite designers and one of its best shows! I really do want one of everything from this collection and I love the shoes!

Alexander McQueen
Love it! An absolutely beautiful collection, I pretty much want every piece from this collection.

Mugler
I am really impressed with how Mugler has been turned around, the show was exceptional and the shoes are sensational!

Marc Jacobs
I really like the utilitarian feel of this with an added sense of humour. I look forward to seeing this in the stores.

Jonathan Saunders
One of my all time favourites. I love the colours, the prints, the cuts. In fact I love every single thing about it!

Alexander Wang
This is really up my street and if I had to choose one designer this season, it would have to be Alexander Wang.

Left: Dolce & Gabbana
From the soft wave in the hair and the exquisite detail in the brocades and velvets to the cropped trouser that’s an emerging autumn trend, I liked almost everything about this show.
Right: Prada
Actors Jamie Bell, Gary Oldman, Adrien Brody, Tim Roth, Willem Dafoe and Emile Hirsch all graced the Prada red carpet, showcasing a collection strong on tailoring and detail. Fluffy lapels with circular glasses and flowers perched in pockets and pin brooches in the shape of sheriff badges and guns sat beneath.

Left: Jil Sander
Raf Simons, creative director at Jil Sander, designed a slick collection of luxe leathers and beautifully structured pieces.
Right: Marni
Two of the keys trends emerging from the A/W12 shows are the cropped trouser and the foxtail accessory. Marni showcased both of these beautifully, as well as one of the best colour palettes that I have seen so far – think red, beige and blue.

Left: Pringle of Scotland
One of my favourite shows, Pringle of Scotland featured a striking range of colour consisting of camel, oxblood, soft tangerine and blue.
Right: Burberry Prorsum
I love the softness and unstructured tailoring of Burberry Prorsum: the luxury fabrics, complex detailing and the nicest caps!

Andrea Pompilio
The foxtail featured heavily in this collection of quirky prints and colours and I’d happily wear every piece of this collection.

I was doing the hair of the beautiful Alessandra Steinherr (beauty director at Glamour) and she brought this beautiful little treasure out of her bag. I obviously won’t be wearing it, but my clients are always asking what I suggest and this is something I will be recommending left, right and centre!

I have been working with Kirt now for years and years and we have joined forces yet again to personalise some of her beautiful designs and incorporate then into the hair styling. I’ll let you know when they make their debut, but keep your eyes out for further designs.

I was having a wander around East London and came across this great little furniture shop. It is well worth a visit for its carefully chosen pieces, and the staff are really friendly. All in all, its one of my new favourite places! www.chaseandsorensen.com

It was a couple of weeks ago that I received a call from The Coterie asking if I would do a trends presentation for The Coterie@London Fashion Week event at LSO St Luke’s on Old Street. I was asked to talk about the S/S12 trends, halfway through the international shows, so thanks for that Marcell and Catherine! I studied the trends that are emerging on the catwalk and I realised that although there are trends that emerge every season, it is quite easy to look through fashion history and to mark trends that emerge in cycles throughout the seasons. So I decided to chat a little bit about that and then put my own stamp on the trends I’ve seen emerging.
So here are four of the trends I saw for S/S12:
Trend 1: Wet look Trend 2: Mod Luxe

Trend 3: Pastel colours Trend 4: Adornment (right model)
