We launched our new Percy & Reed Hair range in Selfridges and on QVC over the weekend, and while all of this was going on we had the House of Holland show on Saturday and The Coterie@London Fashion Week Trends Presentation on Sunday with Blow Presents. Regular readers will know that I like to keep my posts short and sweet, but I feel this needs a bigger section, so I hope you enjoy reading it!
House of Holland S/S12 – Pastel Punks
I went to House of Holland headquarters last Thursday for the hair and make-up test with make-up supremo Lucia Pica and nail star Sophy Robson. It was the first time that we had seen the collection and I was blown away. Henry Holland took a lot of his inspiration from the Shane Meadows film This is England and photography by Gavin Watson. The finished look was a mod-inspired, Versace-esque, slicked and side-locked do!

It is the second year that I have teamed up with BaByliss PRO UK to work backstage at House of Holland – I feel they are the best tools and achieve the best results. We prepped damp hair using the BaByliss PRO Volare hairdryer, we then set the second stage of the foundation using the BaByliss PRO Advanced Ceramic styler to press the hair and seal the cuticles for a glossy, ultra-expensive finish. We kept the styler at a medium heat to maintain movement and each section was sprayed using the Percy & Reed Hair Reassuringly Firm Session Hold Hairspray to maximise the gloss and protect the hair. A section was then taken from the temples to the crown and using a mix of the Percy & Reed Hair No Oil Oil and Finishing Polish, we drew all of the hair back towards the crown and secured it with a hand-painted Goody barrette. the rest of the hair was then drawn in to the nape and secured with a second barrette. Just before the girls hit the runway, we gently mussed the front panels of the hair to give an authentic mod finish.
My House of Holland runway kit essentials:

BaByliss PRO Volare hairdryer – This hairdryer gives amazing heat and the large concentrator nozzle is excellent for a direct heat, perfectly preparing the hair.

BaByliss PRO Advanced Ceramic styler – I don’t go anywhere without this! This iron has variable heat so it is perfect for pressing the hair, maintaining condition, shine and movement.
NuBone dressing comb – My favourite!
Goody barrettes – I love these because they sit flush to the head and they achieve the fluid shape we needed at House of Holland. On the morning of the show we painted these a rose gold metallic to match the heels of the Nicholas Kirkwood shoes.
And of course, I would like to thank the absolutely amazing team that worked backstage at House of Holland, without them it would never have happened. They are the best show team in the world:
Paul Percival – Without him I would be nothing!
Dom Capel – GOD! I LOVE YOU!
Neil Woolley – My number one.
Harriet White – An amazing talent.
Aid Tams – A STAR in the making!
Lacey Hawkins – A fashionweekista!
Richard Philippart – Cannot wait to work with him again.
Stacey Egan – A very talented young lady indeed.
Emma Taylor – ‘Cheeky’
Angelo Vallillo – A very handsome and hard worker.
Harriet Calvert – A real pleasure to work with, can’t wait to see her
Natalie Bailey – A little star
Oh, and look who we bumped into backstage….
